Langdon Community collaborative member organizations

1st Bow Valley Scouts

Mission: To contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.
Sample Programming and Events: Annual program runs from September to May of each year.  Beaver, Cub and Scout Programs are available for kids aged 5 to 14. 
Registration for 2016-2017 year is May 25th from 6:30pm -8:00pm at Langdon Field House.

Langdon Community Association

Mission: The Langdon Community Association is a 100% volunteer-based organization run by members of the community, with the sole purpose of helping to make Langdon a more enjoyable place to live.
Sample Programming and Events:  Langdon Days, Hobby Weekends, Paint Nights, Family Movie Events, Winterfest, Oktoberfest, and a variety of smaller community events and social opportunities.

Langdon Community Garden Society

Mission: To promote the coming together of Langdon’s citizens with a common purpose of nurturing, developing and sustaining a growing space in our community. The Langdon community garden will reflect the area it serves; engaging, educating, building and strengthening the community in a significant way.
Sample Programming and Events:  Community Gardening, Gardening information sessions/consultation, and Children’s Garden. Our Grand Opening celebration is taking place on Saturday June 18 from 9-11 am.

Girl Guides of Canada – Moonlight District

Mission: Girl Guides of Canada enables girls to be confident, resourceful and courageous, and to make a difference in the world.
Sample Programming and Events: Sparks (age 5-6), Brownies (age 7-8), Guides (age 9-11), Pathfinders (age 12-14), Rangers (age 15-17), Leaders (adults). New member registration opens June 1st at 10am.

Langdon Little League

Mission: To provide youth baseball to Langdon and surrounding area.
Sample Programming and Events: League operates outdoor youth programming in the spring and summer months.

Langdon O.K. Seniors Club

Mission: To organize and promote social, recreational, athletic, educational, and other activities for its members.
Sample Programming and Events: Balanced Fitness exercise classes, monthly information sessions, social gatherings.

Langdon O.K. Seniors Club

Langdon Recreation Centre

Mission: To build, administer, and maintain indoor recreation facilities in Langdon, for the benefit of Langdon and the Bow North Recreation District.
Sample Programming and Events: Pond hockey fundraiser tournament, spring basketball camp, youth ball hockey.

Langdon Softball Association

Mission: To provide the residents of Langdon and area with a fun adult mixed slo-pitch league.
Sample Programming and Events:  Season runs from May – September yearly, typically with three tourneys (season opener, Langdon Days, and season closer).

Langdon Theatre Association

Mission: To deliver fun, affordable programs to the children of Langdon and the surrounding area, while providing them with life skills such as self-esteem, team building skills and self-worth.
Sample Programming and Events: Annual theatre program for all ages with winter showcase and spring production.

Shire of the Nightmare Plains (an Amtgard Park)

Mission: Providing an alternative outdoor activity based on LARPing (live action role-playing) for ages 14 to 94. 
Sample Programming and Events: We meet every Sunday at Langdon Park at 2:00

Synergy

Mission: To cultivate the development of community leadership in Chestermere, Langdon, and S.E. Rocky View.
Sample Programming and Events: Langdon SHOUT and Langdon YELL groups, Langdon Legacies, Pretty in Pink Campaign, Super Hero Retreat
